Jay Fortune is a full-time professional entertainer specializing in magic. Jay devised and hosted the worlds most listened to radio show dedicated to magic and magicians. He has written and consulted on magic programmes for BBC, Channel 4 and Sky One. He also appeared by invitation on the 2007 feature film Magicians.


As a live performer Jay has presented his unique form of comedy all over the world. Mentored by some of the worlds top magicians at Mystery School, a centre for magical excellence, he was requested to perform in Las Vegas in 2006 and was such a hit that he has been rebooked for the next few years. Whether performing intimate magic for a wedding couple through to a full stage illusion before an audience of thousands, his quick wit and natural sense for generating a fun atmosphere have made him a popular and requested performer for many of the worlds biggest corporate companies; P&O Cruises, Thomsons, Thomas Cook, First Choice, Sony, Disney, Carphone Warehouse, Barclays International plc, BT, Financial Times, Land Rover, Holiday Inn Hotels, HSBC, Orion, Direct Line, Britannia, Barnardos, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Legoland, Marriott Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Madame Tussauds and many more. His magic is highly comical, baffling and memorable. He is equally at home hosting an event on stage, before an adult or family audience through to working in a busy and hectic dinner environment. His experience in these fields is vast.


His one-man horror show Magick and Mayhem described as avante-garde, often funny, sometimes horrific and occasionally very beautiful became the fastest selling show for Londons Late Night Magic, selling out quicker than any other show in the companys five year history. With a combination of trickery and dark humour, this show creates a suitably creepy atmosphere and continues to play theatres around the UK.


Jay has starred in pantomime, and performed as various characters on the stage and as hoax sketches on the street to an unsuspecting public.

As a presenter with an expertise in magic, Jay has hosted a live chat show on Showcase TV, and has been a guest on a spoof topical debate for SKY NEWS. His film credits include Magicians (Universal Pictures Ltd 2007).


Jay has also been involved in other TV magic programmes, among them, as consultant for BBCs highly acclaimed History of Magic series (BBC2) and has also been requested to submit ideas for Objective Productions Undercover Magic (SKY ONE) and work with Barry and Stuart (C4: Magick, Tricks from the Bible) Currently Jay is developing his own TV ideas for broadcast and continues to develop material for other television magic shows.


Jay devised, wrote and hosted Radio Magic; a specialist radio show dedicated to magic and magicians. Broadcast world-wide via the internet every Monday, Radio Magic has seen Jay interview stars of magic such as Paul Daniels, as well as producers, writers and creators inside the magic and media industry. Radio Magic became the worlds number one radio magic show dedicated to magicians world-wide.


Prior to this, Jay has hosted the Kool Breakfast Show for 18 months featuring the latest music, topical chat, news, features and competitions. Broadcast to an area encompassing half a million people across London, Jay also performed his unique and comical style of magic over the radio, including a straitjacket escape which received wide coverage in both local newspapers and radio industry press! Jay was also responsible for writing the Kool Kolumn circulated to over 90,000 homes.


Jay has also hosted his own breakfast show on Paradise FM. He has presented Drive-Time on both Paradise FM and Kool AM.

With entrepreneurial drive and ambition, Jay created Corporate Kids Parties, an agency created to handle childrens shows at the corporate level. Jay handled the negotiation and bookings for this work, enlisting the skills of specialist childrens magicians to perform the shows. This small agency quickly expanded and in 2009 Jay was invited to combine his contacts, skills and knowledge and join the UKs largest independent entertainment agency where he works as executive booker arranging events and entertainment on an international platform.


In 2008, Jay was invited to project manage a product launch across the UK for Marvins Magic, the Worlds #1 magic-set brand.


Jay has taught magic one-to-one and on video/DVD. He has written and published three magic books. He has written many shows, including productions for The 02, and national touring shows. As a qualified artist, Jay has a degree in design and illustration. Specialising within the magic fraternity, he has produced works for many major magic publications. He has designed company logos, advertising and product branding. He has teamed up with some of the top creators in magic and illustrated their life works.


In 2007, Jay was invited to join TVMagic.co.uk, an online magic business which deals with exclusive merchandise from top TV magicians. He also writes a regular series of articles for MagicSeen, Europes biggest selling magazine specialising in magic.


His highly successful Radio Magic concept has been copied by others and in 2008 he re-branded Radio Magic to eMagicalMedia, again leading the field with his expertise of magic and knack for finding a gap in the marketplace where a new business can flourish. In 2009 eMagicalMedia signed an exclusive distribution deal with one of the worlds top magic businesses.


His audio series The Magic Interviews features stars of magic discussing their life, career and secrets of the trade and has a long waiting list of world-class performers.


2008 saw the first Magic Moments Day, Jays fund-raising venture. Magic Moments continues to grow, with more and more magicians staging shows and raising money for charitable causes on a specified day of the year.

Jay has written his own magic newspaper column in the press. He has devised, written and published a spoof comical newspaper, The Cobweb. He holds an enhanced CRB check.
